Ricky was walking through the jungle
to reach his home. He was returning from his school. While walking, a horse
called Blacky asked him, do you want a ride?
“Umm Yes but only if you will not run
fast”
“OK”
And Ricky was on the back of the
horse. The horse was walking slow but then was excited to show him the beauty
of jungle. So, in that enthusiasm, he started running fast and took the longer
route. Ricky got feared and said to stop. Blacky reluctantly stopped and Ricky
jump off his back. He said to walk through the jungle to home.
He was singing and walking towards
his house. Suddenly he realized someone is following him. He got feared since
he had not taken this route ever. He started walking fast. He could hear the
foot tap and realized that the one who is following him is also walking fast. He
started running and the one behind him also started running. Now Ricky was
really feared. But he thought of facing the one chasing him. He suddenly
stopped and turned around. There was a big lion standing behind him. He was
almost dying seeing him. Still he gathers the courage and asked loudly, “Why
are you chasing me?”.
The Big Lion suddenly started crying
in front of him. Ricky was a bit surprised and confused.
“What happened, why are you crying?”
Hearing this the Big Lion show his front
leg. Oh, it was bleeding heavily. A big thorn got pricked into his leg. The Big
Lion said, “I am not able to run fast because of this thorn, I am in pain. Can
you please help me getting it out?”
“Oh, it indeed is big. Let me help
you” saying, Ricky asked him to sit so as to take that thorn out. He pulled it
out with precision. Suddenly the blood oozed out from that. Ricky took his
water bottle out of the bag and started washing the wound. After washing it
properly, he took some herbs and placed on the wound. It gave a big relief to
the Big Lion. The mighty lion was relieved and happy that this young boy helped
him come out of the pain.
Ricky gave him his water bottle which
the Big Lion finished in a gulp. Ricky thought, the lion is hungry.
“I haven’t had my tiffin in school, I
have some bread and vegetable. Do you want to eat?”
“I am hungry since I could not hunt
due to this. But I eat meat only. How can I eat your roti and vegetables?”
“My mom is a good cook. He cooks
delicious food. Eat it, hope you would like it.”
The Lion was hungry, so he started
eating the tiffin of Ricky. He liked the taste. He drank the remaining water and
thanked Ricky.
“Ricky, you seem to be a good guy.
You helped me come away from this agony. I am really happy. Let’s be friend.”
“Yeah, let’s be friend.” Said Ricky
and gave him HI five.
“See Ricky, you have come to deep into
the jungle. I show you the way to reach your village. Take the left road and walk
straight there. In 30 minutes, you will be at your village. And remember, you
may face some wild animal on the way. Just tell them you are the friend of The
Big Lion. No one will harm you. And in case someone still try harming you, call
me for help. I will hear your sound and run to reach you in no time.”
“Ok”
“Goodbye my little friend. You are a
good boy.” Saying this, the Big Lion bid adieu to Ricky.
Ricky was happy. He was happy because
he helped a Big Lion. He was happy because he overcome his fear by turning
around to face it. He was feeling as if he has grown big. He was singing again
and walking to the road shown by the Lion.
He walked few distance. Suddenly few
wolves come in front of him from the jungle. They said to eat him. He said, “Hey,
do you know the Big Lion is my friend! Run away or I will shout to call him. He
will tear you all. Go run away.”
Hearing this, all the wolves got
feared and ran away. Ricky was happy that his new friend, the Big Lion has
helped him without coming along.
He started walking again singing.
This time he was more confident. He knew he now is the friend of the King of
this Jungle and no body will harm him.
He now saw some foxes standing on the
road a little far of. He thought to change the road so as not to encounter
them. But he was not much aware of the roads of the jungle. So, he started
walking towards them more confidently. Seeing his confidence walk, the foxes at
once got surprised and thought he must be stronger than them. The moment Ricky
was getting closer to them, all the foxes ran away. Ricky was happy. He this
time hasn’t used the name of his friend, the Lion Kind.
This build more confidence in his
walk. He was walking firm on the road. He was walking pass big tree, small ponds,
lots of shrubs patches. He was singing his favorite song and walking slow and
fast. There was a big tree on the way. It was such a huge tree with nest of
lots of birds. The chirping of birds made him happy. But his happiness was momentary.
There was a huge python hanging from one of the branches of the big tree. He
had opened his huge mouth to eat Ricky. This time Ricky was really feared. He wasn’t
knowing what to say and how to run away from this huge python. The python was
coming closer to him. Python was such a close that any moment Ricky would have
been his mouth. Suddenly Ricky said crying, “don’t eat me. I am the friend of
the Kind of this Jungle. I am the friend of The Big Lion.”
The python immediately stopped. He
said, “what did you say now? You are friend of The Big Lion? He is my best friend
too. So, friend’s friend is my friend as well. Go I will not eat you. Go boy
but be careful. This is wild jungle.”
Huh, Ricky was such relieved as if he
was born again. He was thanking his presence of mind. Would he have not said
that he is friend of The Big Lion, he would have become lunch of the python. He
was also happy for the reason that just by hearing that he is friend of Lion,
the python left him. Even if he would have eaten him, how would Lion King have
known that. He was happy that animal value friendship. He started walking fast
now in the jungle. He now doesn’t want to encounter more problem there. He was whistling
and walking faster towards his village.
But this was not the end of the
problem for him. He was surrounded by four Big Elephants on the way. The
Elephants were not happy seeing human in their territory. They had a thinking
that human always come to the jungle to harm wild animal. They all were angry.
Ricky was feared. He said a loud to let all the four elephants hear, “Don’t
dare harming me. I am good friend of The Big Lion. He is the king of this
jungle. He will kill you all.”
Hearing this, they became even more
angry. One of the elephants said, “I don’t care if you are the friend of the
Lion. We are equally stronger than him and we aren’t feared of him. Call your
friend. But you will not go back to your village from here.”
Ricky shouted a loud “The Big Lion…
The Big Lion… I need your help… Please come fast… Please help…”
The loud sound was heard by the Big
Lion. He started running in the direction of the sound. In a few second, he was
standing with Ricky surrounded by four huge elephants.
Suddenly an elephant tried pulling
Ricky from his big black trunk. The Lion punched with his foreleg on the trunk.
The elephant withdrew his trunk, but it made him and all the other three
elephants angrier. The Big Lion said, “Elephants, don’t dare hitting a good
boy. He is my friend because he helped me in agony that I was facing few minutes
back. He not only helped me, but also gave his tiffin to me to eat since I was
very hungry. He made my wound clean and applied herbs and see now I can even run
easily which I wasn’t few moments back. He is a good soul and we should not
harm him.”
All the four elephants were listening
to his King and melted hearing the story of the Lion.
“Oh, if he has helped you, he must be
friend of all the animal then. We always have seen selfish human who come to
the jungle to harm us and the jungle. We that’s why don’t like seeing them. But
since he helped you and gave you his tiffin as well, we will not harm him. In fact,
we will take him to his village on our back. You are a good boy Ricky. Come sit
on my back.”
The Big Lion was happy that he saved his friend.
Ricky was happy that he not only is safe but getting an elephant ride.
Elephants were happy that they have seen good helpful human. All were happy.
The jungle was happy that nothing any unusual has happened.
